New CD - Out now!

Biography

Jimmy Reiter, who for over 10 years was lead guitarist with US Blues singer/harmonica player Doug Jay as well as supporting player for numerous international Blues artists on their European tours, such as Larry Garner, Big Daddy Wilson, Albie Donnelly and Memo Gonzalez, released High Priest Of Nothing in 2011, his solo debut as a front man.

The CD, winning the German Record Critics' Award and gaining praise by fans and critics alike, launched his career as a bandleader and frontman in his own right. Extensive European touring quickly established the Jimmy Reiter Band as a class act in the international Blues scene. On his 2015 album Told You So, Reiter once again showed his talents as a guitarist and singer, and proved to be a convincing songwriter, firmly rooted in the tradition of Blues and R&B, but with a fresh style of his own.

In early 2019, Reiter's third album "What You Need" was released featuring a four-piece horn section on some of the songs including saxophone players Sax Gordon and Amadee Castenell. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the band to put their touring plans on hold in 2020, they decided to go through all the live material that had been recorded over the last years and pick out our their personal favorites, resulting in the release of Jimmy Reiter's first ever concert recording, "LIVE". Filled with almost 80 minutes of material from their previous studio albums as well as long-time audience favorites, Reiter and his band are at the top of their game, doing what they love the most.

Whether from a small club stage or a large outdoor festival, the Jimmy Reiter Band is well-known for their spirited shows and sharing their passion for blues with their audiences, Reiter is supported by his German/Dutch band consisting of Horst Bergmeyer – organ/piano, Jasper Mortier – bass and Björn Puls – drums.

In addition to fronting his own project, Jimmy Reiter is a welcomed guest on studio albums of other artists, such as "Love Is The Key" by Big Daddy Wilson, Keith Dunn's "Collection", "Kinky At The Root" by Dede Priest and "Shake-Down" by Chad Strentz.

Reiter has released two successful video guitar courses for TrueFire, Soul Guitar Guidebook Vol. I and II.
